Am thrilled to announce, our ‘ANTARCTICA. A Life Changing Experience’, short film has been selected for the Barcelona International Environmental Film Festival in November.
As you may know, this is our second film, a little longer, more of a documentary and using much of the video footage that we took on our expedition to South Georgia Island and Antarctica.
It’s all about maximising the reach of the messages in the film for us. And to know that we can actively promote organisations that are protecting the Antarctic regions and our Southern Ocean.
That’s what makes this selection particularly exciting…..
Our film will be will be shown as a Spanish premier as part of the ‘Monarca section documentary’. What’s really special about this 31st edition of the festival, apart from the fact it runs for nearly three weeks, from the 1st to the 23rd November, it’s a multiscreen. That means it’s not just going to be seen by those physical visitors to the festival but will be both online and also screened on Spanish TV too.
As the world’s oldest environmental film festival, we share their goal of educating through entertaining, using audiovisuals as the tools with which to achieve that. Creating the messages visually that we need to hear to feel the pulse of our planet, through the latest environmental films. Also loved the small team that is behind the festival. Claudio Laurio’s vision kicked off in 1993, with what could have been a flooding disaster for the launch event and yet here it is, in its 31st year. A big thank you goes to the Antarctic and Southern Ocean Coalition, the Nature Vision Foundation and the South Georgia Heritage Trust for their close support and partnership.
A master of his art Bruno Zaugg, Design-Factory GmbH, the film producer and director, has expertly and sensitively created this documentary, showcasing my passion for this region of the planet, the challenges the wildlife faces through the accelerated climate change and some simple steps we can all take to reduce our negative effect on the planet.
